Pastoral Update for HBC

Dear Church Family,

Thank you for your support and understanding as we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a Team of Pastors, we are committed to communicate with you regularly in the days ahead. Pastor Jeff has been vigilant to monitor the news and provide important information and updates, and we are all committed to care for you and pray for you. Here are some important bits of information for you to know for the upcoming week.

Sunday Worship and Sunday School

Until further notice, our Sunday morning schedule is cancelled. Please do not come to HBC on Sunday morning. Instead, we will post our service online for you to access in the safety of your home. Go to the front page of our website (, scroll down, and you should find it listed there. Our services will be posted by 10:45am each Sunday morning, and our desire is that you will gather with your family in your home to worship Jesus each Sunday.

Wednesday Evening Prayer

Until further notice, our Wednesday evening schedule is also cancelled. But our mid-week prayer is mission critical and must continue. God has been so gracious and kind to our church family, and we will not waiver in our commitment to mid-week prayer in the weeks ahead. Our plan is to email the prayer sheet to our resident members. Let me urge you to print this prayer sheet each Wednesday night and spend some time in focused prayer. Please be faithful to share updates with the church office as you hear of new prayer concerns. And please also be faithful to write notes of encouragement to one another. It is imperative that we pray for one another during this time.

Financial Giving

I have had several members contact me to talk about how they can continue to give in the days ahead. Seriously! I am truly amazed at the generosity of our church family. So let me just say THANK YOU for your loving and faithful support. You are exemplary givers, and I praise God for your joyful and eager generosity. You can continue to give in several ways:

  1. you can give through our website at
  2. you can mail your offering to the church office.
  3. we have a secure offering box in the church office. Our office will be open (8:30am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri.)

Deacons’ Meeting

We are still planning to have our deacon’s meeting (with precautions) at 3:00pm on Sunday at HBC. Our purpose for meeting is twofold:

  1. we will spend some time in prayer together, and
  2. we will outline our plan of action to care for members of our church family most susceptible to COVID-19.

Every member of HBC is a treasured gift from God.  Every member is loved by GOD and therefore worthy of our focused prayer and care.  I love our church family dearly, and I look forward to worshiping Jesus together soon. Until that time, keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus.

With love,

Pastor Jeremy

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
